Life goes in cycles. Nothing is permanent. And after 12 years, one beautiful cycle is coming to an end: Zouktime Holiday in Kačjak Croatia.

Not Zouktime itself, thankfully. 🙂 The event will continue somewhere else in Croatia next year. Where exactly? We don’t know yet. For now, that remains part of the mystery.

But this summer will be our last Zouktime in Kačjak—the place that, for so many of us, has become almost impossible to separate from the event itself.

When Zouk Found Me

Lilly Zouk Croatia Zouktime

I remember coming to Croatia just one week after discovering Zouk dance in my home country, Lithuania. I felt so uplifted simply watching people dance Zouk, and so inspired to learn it myself.

Then I had to face the sad reality: there was no Zouk in Croatia. No regular classes. No parties.

My heart was devastated. Probably only Zouk dancers will understand that… 😀

Zouktime Holiday, happening once a year, felt like my saving grace. I didn’t care that I was a total beginner; I just knew—I felt it in my bones—that I needed to be at Zouktime.

And since then, I have never regretted following the guidance of my desire.

And if you haven’t been there yet, hey—you will miss a lot if you don’t jump on the last wagon, so to speak. 🙂

Just Imagine This…

Just imagine for a moment.

Close your eyes and imagine…

Oh, wait. You need to read this text first. 😀

Okay, keep your eyes open and imagine a wide, open space with a view of the sea right in front of your nose.

Zouk music playing all day and all night, with only a few hours of silence (well, people need to sleep, I guess).

A light summer breeze playing with your hair—or tickling your bald head 😀—in the evenings.

People dancing wrapped in the golden light of the sunset.

And during the day? Eating, learning from top teachers, socializing, and, of course… dancing!

And hey, the place where you sleep is just a few hundred meters away from the main venue, right in the heart of the woods, providing fresh oxygen 24/7.

Okay… Let’s Talk About the Food 😀

Plus, one of my personal favourites: the Swedish-table buffet!

Even though it doesn’t look like that on me at all, I actually like food.

And I really mean it.

Just recently, the organizer of Croatia Zouk Marathon told me that the chef—who is quite a big man—had been observing me during mealtimes and couldn’t believe where all the food I ate could possibly fit into my body.

According to him, I am basically a walking, talking black hole. 😀

And believe me, I am turbo happy when you feed me quality food. That’s why I feel like a kid in the Zouktime dining area. 🙂

Last year, I even gained 4 kg in two weeks!

I was turbo happy with the result… even though I lost it all again during the first week afterwards.

But okay. Let’s not make this all about Lilly and the food. 😀

More Than a Dance Event

All in all, Croatia Zouktime Holiday, specifically in Kačjak, is one of those experiences you don’t want to miss.

It’s like dance, fun, retreat and meditation—all in one.

The best medicine for body, mind and spirit.

And now I am probably as curious as everyone else about how Zouktime Holidays will develop and what is waiting for us next…

What Really Makes an Event Special

I am a believer that yes, the external things matter: the beauty, the comfort, the location and everything around us.

But what truly makes an event special is the people and good organization.

Even though I wasn’t able to attend every edition, from what I experienced there, I can say that the organization was perfect. I had zero complaints.

And it was beautiful for me to observe what an amazing team they have—working as one unit and supporting each other to make the event EPIC each time.

And each time, it was.

Knowing that Pavla and Ludek organize many more dance events throughout the year, it fascinates me how they manage to offer such a high-quality experience again and again.

And Then There Are the People…

Ohhh… and let’s not forget those who actually attended the event.

I met so many kind, lovely and interesting people there and created memories that are hard to forget.

The people were the ones who created that sense of family and filled the place with joy, happiness and fun. 🙂

One Last Zoukish Sunset… Or sunrise for some? 🙂

It is really hard for me to imagine Zouktime Holiday somewhere other than Kačjak.

At the same time, I know from my own experience that everything that ends opens the way to a new path.

So I am looking forward with curiosity to the newness of this event next year.

But for now…

Let’s go and meet the last Zoukish sunset in Kačjak. 🙂 Or maybe the last sunrise, you warriors of Zouk.

One last Zouktime in Kačjak ❤️
